[PeterPaul.ca] — The Association of Haitian Journalists confirmed Sunday that three journalists are confirmed dead following the January 12 earthquake. The journalists were identified as Wanel Fils, a Radio Galaxie reporter, Henry Claude Pierre, a Jacmel-based correspondent for Radio Magic 9 and Belot Senatus, a Radio Tele Guinen cameraman.
Another reporter, Jean Robert Francois of Radio Magic 9, was seriously wounded when the earthquake struck. He was evaluated for medical care and is expected to recover, the Committee to Protect Journalists said.
Organizations on the ground are still compiling the latest casualty figures.
