TORONTO [PeterPaul.ca] — At least five people have been sent to hospital following an explosion at an industrial facility in Sarnia, the city’s mayor confirmed. In an update just after 4 p.m., police confirmed an incident on Scott Road.
Sarnia Police posted a Twitter update regading a tank car explosion on Scott Road. “Please stay off Scott Rd. Sarnia Fire on scene,” the update said. Authorities also confirmed via Twitter that the Ministry of Labour have been advised of the incident.
A map of the area shows a Toronto Hydro substation in the southeast of the city but it is unclear whether the explosion was located near the substation.
