FlyDubai Jetliner crashes in Russia, all aboard feared dead

[PeterPaul.ca] — A Boeing jetliner operated by FlyDubai has crashed in Russia during its second attempt at landing in Rostov-on-Don, multiple media reports said on Saturday.

FlyDubai released a statement on Facebook confirming an incident. “We are aware of an incident involving our flight FZ981 from Dubai to Rostov On Don,” the statement read. “We are investigating further details and will publish an update once more information is available.”

FlightAware data shows that the plane was a Boeing 737-800, one of the most popular jets in aviation history.

Russia Today reported that Flight FZ981 was attempting to land in bad visibility and PeterPaul.ca has confirmed that it was raining at the time of the incident. There were no official reports on how many passengers or crew were on board at the time of the crash.
