[PeterPaul.ca] — A 15-year-old teenager has been identified as the victim in Friday’s deadly stabbing at Scarborough Town Centre’s bus terminal but his identity was not released by police.
In a statement released Saturday morning, police said an altercation took place between two groups of people just before 9:30 p.m. Police later arrived on scene and located the teen with a single stab wound. He succumbed to his injuries a short time later after being rushed to hospital.
A post-mortem examination was scheduled on Saturday and investigators are appealing to any witnesses who might have been there at the time of the altercation before 9:30 p.m. on Friday. There was no suspect description available at press time but media reports said that the bus bay was crowded at the time of the incident.
The shooting snarled GO and TTC transit service for the rest of the night. Scarborough Town Centre’s bus bay returned to normal early Saturday, when regular service resumed.
