Yonge/Bloor shooting leaves one dead, three suspects on the loose

TORONTO [Peter Paul Media] — Homicide detectives are appealing for witnesses after a man was shot near the busy intersection of Yonge and Bloor on Wednesday evening. Three suspects were seen fleeing the area and are still on the loose.

Multiple witnesses reported five gun shots after a physical altercation in front of the Tim Horton’s at the intersections northeast corner just after 8 p.m. Minutes later, five shots rang out and three suspects fled the scene in an unknown direction.

Passers-by performed CPR before help arrived but despite an emergency run to hospital, the unidentified victim was pronounced dead. Multiple witnesses report hearing gun fire just after 8 p.m.

In a Twitter update, police said three males were being sought. The intersection was subsequently closed for investigation but had since reopened early Thursday.
