Prince’s former home in Toronto up for sale

TORONTO [Peter Paul Media] — The home of the late music icon known as Prince is up for sale for $13 million dollars and includes a purple basement complete with hair salon, a real estate broker told Peter Paul Media Friday on the condition of anonymity.

The broker, familiar with the behind-the-scenes dealings of 61 The Bridle Path before and after its purchase, revealed that the entire basement had been redone purple shortly after the music icon moved in.

An underground hair salon was also installed for his wife, Toronto-born Manuela Testolini. The colour marked his sixth studio album entitled Purple Rain, ranked as one of the best albums in musical history.

The property is now owned by Richview Holdings and is “on the market and off the market,” the broker revealed. There is one offer from a prospective buyer in play but the property has yet to be sold.

“The place is still purple and it’s empty,” the source said. The massive home includes 10 bathrooms, three bedrooms, a tennis court and an award-wining swimming pool. The asking price is listed at $13 million dollars. An aerial tour of the grounds shows a beautiful property with over 14,000 sq ft of living space.

It is unclear when Prince actually sold the property but most believe unconfirmed reports that it was following his 2006 divorce from Testolini. Prince Rogers Nelson died April 21 at the age of 57.
